Deuteronomy 22:8 “When you build a new house, you shall make a parapet for your roof, that you may not bring bloodguilt on your house if anyone falls from it.”
How are you showing love?
In Biblical times the roof of many houses were used for more than a covering from the weather. It was possible to go up for prayers and Bible study because you would be above the noise of the streets. When I was in Vietnam there was a time I could put a cot on top of the bunker at night and sleep on it.
It could also be used for entertaining guests. If alcoholic drinks were served someone could loose their balance and fall off. Then they or a family member could sue or if the person died you would have to run off to the closest city of refuge.
Building a wall (parapet) around the roof would protect you as well as your guests. It would be a demonstration of your love for your brother, Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 7:12.
Wisdom involves understanding our lives from God’s perspective.
