Malachi 3:2 (1-6) “But who can endure the day of His coming?”
Are you ready?
As we saw previously the Levites or religious leadership was failing to do their job, 2:17. But now we see that they were doing more than that they were abusing those they were supposed to be helping, 3:3-5. This is one of the major temptation problems of those in religious positions of authority.
God’s answer to this situation is the prophecy of the Messiah, preceded by John the Baptist, 3:1. Yet, the house cleaning won’t occur until the seven years of Tribulation mentioned by Daniel.
The reason they were ignoring God was because they didn’t think God was listening. Sometimes we think God is not listening because He doesn’t seem to respond right away, like a good boy. We forget that God is in charge and will answer when He is good and ready. Most of the time what we ask God for has already been answered if we would just consistently study the Bible and apply it.
Alertness involves being fully aware of the consequences of present thoughts, attitudes, words and actions.
