Isaiah 39:7 (1-8) “And some of your sons … shall become officials in the palace of the king of Babylon.”

Are you being tested?

About 100 years later this prophecy came true when Nebuchadnezzar smooshed Judah and took captive Daniel and his three friends. He had the shopping list that these envoys had made with him so he wouldn’t miss any of the things that could be taken from the temple and the treasury. You never know what fruit your thoughtless actions will produce let alone when, so it is always wiser to get advice from those who are wiser before you act or speak, James 1:19.

Hezekiah had just gone through a test from God and passed, 2 Chronicles 32:31, but he failed to realize that God will, like any good teacher, test His own more than just once. God has enrolled every believer in His educational program (James 1:2-4), so that the man of God will be ready for every good work, 2 Timothy 3:16-17. All the scriptures (for us today that is the 66 books of the Bible) in the days of Hezekiah included most of the 39 books of what we call the Old Testament except a few of the Major and Minor prophets who were used by God to teach the king. The purpose of a test is to measure how much of the lesson you have actually learned.

What Hezekiah forgot and what we also seem to forget is that our entire life is a schoolroom where the teacher is continually teaching and testing. We really don’t know when the Master has stopped teaching or started testing. But we do know this every teacher tends to be lenient with those students who always seem to be prepared.

Alertness involves being fully aware of the consequences of present words, actions, attitudes, and thoughts.

Isaías 39:7 (1-8) “Y algunos de tus hijos… serán llevados y serán oficiales en el palacio del rey de Babilonia.”

¿Estás siendo probando?

Cerca de 100 años más tarde esta profecía se hizo realidad cuando Nabucodonosor alisó a Judá y tomó cautivo a Daniel ya sus tres amigos. Tenía la lista de compras que estos enviados habían hecho con él para no perder ninguna de las cosas que se podían sacar del templo y del tesoro. Nunca se sabe qué fruto producirán sus acciones irreflexivas, y mucho menos cuando, por lo que siempre es más sabio pedir consejo a aquellos que son más sabios antes de actuar o hablar, Santiago 1:19.

Ezequías había pasado por una prueba de Dios y pasó, 2 Crónicas 32:31, pero no se dio cuenta de que Dios, como cualquier buen maestro, probará a los suyos más que una sola vez. Dios ha inscrito a cada creyente en su programa educativo (Santiago 1: 2-4), para que el hombre de Dios esté listo para toda buena obra, 2 Timoteo 3: 16-17. Psalm 60:9 (1-12) “Who will bring me into the besieged city?”

How ready are you?

After the death of Samuel and Saul we have the record of some of David’s victories in establishing himself as a force to contend with in the region while uniting the kingdom, 2 Samuel 8, 1 Chronicles 18-20. While David was in the north the Edomites apparently launched an attack in the south. In shock David then sends Joab who achieves a victory showing the region that David was not alone.

The question David asks is why would God allow His people to be defeated in one area while winning in another. But I think the real question is why aren’t we (His people) ready in every area of our lives for the certain attacks of Satan. He has promised to be there for us, but what happens when He is there but we are not?

One thing we should learn from history of Israel is that even when it is clear the God will fight the battle for us we need always to ready. At times He will use us as His sword and at other times He will use even an unbeliever, but we always have to be dressed for battle, Ephesians 6:13-18. I think we should never assume that God would take care of us without our cooperation. If this idea forces us to be in constant contact with God about our needs, then this thought has done its job.

Alertness is not just to danger. It involves paying attention to opportunities God presents for real change, right now.

Salmo 60:9 (1-12) “¿Quién me conducirá a la ciudad fortificada?”

¿Estás listo?

Después de la muerte de Samuel y Saúl, tenemos el registro de algunas de las victorias de David al establecerse como una fuerza para luchar en la región mientras unía el reino, 2 Samuel 8, 1 Crónicas 18-20. Mientras David estaba en el norte, los Edomitas aparentemente lanzaron un ataque en el sur. Conmovido David envía a Joab que logra una victoria mostrando a la región que David no estaba solo.

La pregunta que David hace es ¿por qué Dios permitiría que Su pueblo fuera derrotado en una área mientras ganaba en otra? Pero creo que la verdadera pregunta es ¿por qué no estamos nosotros (Su pueblo) listos en cada área de nuestras vidas para los ciertos ataques de Satanás. Él ha prometido estar allí para nosotros, pero ¿qué sucede cuando Él está allí pero nosotros no?

Una cosa que debemos aprender de la historia de Israel es que incluso cuando está claro que Dios luchará la batalla por nosotros, debemos estar siempre listos. A veces nos usará como su espada y en otras ocasiones usará incluso a un incrédulo, pero siempre tenemos que estar vestidos para la batalla, Efesios 6:13-18. Creo que nunca debemos asumir que Dios se ocuparía de nosotros sin nuestra cooperación. Si esta idea nos obliga a estar en constante contacto con Dios sobre nuestras necesidades, entonces este pensamiento ha hecho su trabajo.

Atento no es solo al peligro, sino también involucra prestar atención a las oportunidades que Dios nos presenta para un cambio real, ahora mismo.

Psalm 89:32 (1-52) “then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes.”

How much do you love your children?

The Psalmist uses the word “lovingkindness” six times in this Psalm and it is defined with a synonym, “faithfulness”, 89:1. Although God’s love was extended to David and his family line (89:3-4) forever it doesn’t exempt him, and his descendants, from punishment when they deserve it. While a person is being punished it feels like it’s taking forever, but it is necessary to teach or remind one that there are always consequences for their behavior.

But the thing I think we forget about God’s faithfulness to punish us is that God loves us enough not to let us get our way in anything. He is a very good father to each of us and knows that letting us get away with an evil and not punishing us for it sets a bad president for us, Proverbs 14:12. We will start to think that if God will let me go in one area of my life, how many others are there?

His love for His children is too great to let that happen, he will not spare the rod. What we need to do is learn from our mistakes and never discount how much He loves us.

Faith involves remembering all the things God has done for you already and ensuring that He has no reason not to continue.

Salmo 89:32 (1-52) “entonces castigaré con vara su transgresión, y con azotes su iniquidad.”

¿Cuánto amas a tus hijos?

El Salmista utiliza la palabra “misericordia” seis veces en este Salmo y se define con un sinónimo, “fidelidad”, 89:1. Aunque el amor de Dios fue extendido a David y a su línea familiar (89:3-4) para siempre, no lo exonera, ni a sus descendientes, del castigo cuando se lo merecen. Mientras que una persona está siendo castigada, se siente como si estuviera tomando para siempre, pero es necesario enseñar o recordar a uno que siempre hay consecuencias para su comportamiento.

Pero lo que creo que olvidamos de la fidelidad de Dios para castigarnos es que Dios nos ama lo suficiente como para no te dejara salir con la tuya. Él es un padre muy bueno para cada uno de nosotros y sabe que dejarnos escapar con un mal y no castigarnos forma un mal presidente para nosotros, Proverbios 14:12. Comenzaremos a pensar que si Dios me deja ir en un área de mi vida, ¿en cuantas otras me dejara?

Su amor por Sus hijos es demasiado grande para permitir que eso suceda, él no aguantará la vara. Lo que necesitamos hacer es aprender de nuestros errores y nunca descontar cuánto nos ama.

Fe implica recordar todas las cosas que Dios ya ha hecho por ti y asegurarte de que no tenga razón para no continuar.

Isaiah 38:17 (1-22) “It is you who has kept my soul from the pit of nothingness,”

Whom do you trust?

No one really knows exactly when this incident occurred, but my theory is that it happened before Sennacharib showed up to get the kings attention.

In his prayer to God Hezekiah notes that his death made no sense to him. He would die at the prime of his life (31:10) and how could he continue to praise God if he was dead (31:18-19)? But he remembered that God had set aside his sin guilt and though this situation made no sense to him in the moment He knew God would do the right thing (31:17, 20). So he purposed to continue praising God.

Too many times I’ve seen people turn away from God in the middle of difficulty. Maybe this test of Hezekiah’s resolve to trust God no matter what, was not recorded for him, but for us? What we can take from this story is that although we don’t always understand what God is doing, and that is not to say that everything He does is beyond us, we should not forget that God is active in our lives. If this is so then we can have confidence that there is a reason, though in the moment it escapes us.

Yet, the contrast is striking and somewhat overwhelming that at the same time God granted one man life and such a wonderful heritage, he took away the lives of 185,001 men and their heritage. So, as Hezekiah recognized that God had always kept him from the pit of nothingness, let’s thank that same God for keeping us.

Faith involves remembering all the things God has done for you already and ensuring that He has no reason not to continue.

Isaías 38:17 (1-22) “eres tú quien ha guardado mi alma del abismo de la nada,”

¿En quién confías?

Nadie sabe exactamente cuándo ocurrió este incidente, pero mi teoría es que ocurrió antes de que Senaquerib apareciera para llamar la atención del reye.

En su oración a Dios, Ezequías anota que su muerte no tenía sentido para él. Moriría en la plenitud de su vida (31:10) y ¿cómo podría seguir alabando a Dios si estaba muerto (31:18-19)? Pero recordó que Dios había puesto a un lado su culpa por el pecado y que esta situación no tenía sentido para él en el momento en que Él sabía que Dios haría lo correcto (31:17, 20). Así que se propuso seguir alabando a Dios.

Demasiadas veces he visto a la gente alejarse de Dios en medio de la dificultad. Tal vez esta prueba de la decisión de Ezequías de confiar en Dios, no importa qué, no fue registrada para él, sino para nosotros? Lo que podemos sacar de esta historia es que aunque no siempre entendemos lo que Dios está haciendo, y eso no quiere decir que todo lo que Él hace está más allá de nosotros, no debemos olvidar que Dios es activo en nuestras vidas. Si esto es así entonces podemos tener confianza en que hay una razón, aunque en el momento se nos escapa.

Sin embargo, el contraste es sorprendente y algo abrumador que al mismo tiempo Dios le concedió a un hombre la vida y una herencia tan maravillosa, que le quitó la vida de 185,001 hombres y su herencia. Así que, como Ezequías reconoció que Dios siempre lo había mantenido alejado “de la nada”, agradezcamos al mismo Dios por habernos guardado.

Isaiah 37:21 (1-38) “Because you have prayed to Me …”

Whom do you trust?

This story is repeated in two other places in the Bible, do you know where?

The fact that it is repeated three times should tell us that it is important for us to pay some attention to it. Remember, Hezekiah was the king who tore down all the idols and places of worship all over the land in his first days as king. He wanted the world, his people and his God to know that in his mind and heart there was and is only one God and His name is Jehovah. In his story we noticed that he did nothing foolish in fortifying the city and other areas. But we also notice that part of that fortification included prayer.

Prayer is one of our most important tools or weapons of defense that we seem to forget in the middle of whatever distress of the moment may be, Ephesians 6:13-20. Hezekiah called on the prophet to pray for him and then he prayed for himself and his people. How many times do we forget to call our friends, especially those we consider to be spiritually more mature, to pray for us (Romans 15:1, Galatians 6:1-2)?

And, we should notice one more thing about this prayer, how specific it was, 37:15-20. There were no generalities. When we talk to God we should be specific about what our need is and that way be sure when it is answered that it was for you. Maybe we shouldn’t forget the most important thing about prayer. God only listens to His own, He will hear nor answer anyone else.

Isaías 37:21 (1-38) “Por cuanto me has rogado…”

¿En quién confías?

Esta historia se repite en otros dos lugares de la Biblia, ¿sabes dónde?

El hecho de que se repita tres veces debe decirnos que es importante que prestemos atención a ella. Recuerda que Ezequías fue el rey que derribó todos los ídolos y lugares de culto en toda la tierra en sus primeros días como rey. Él quería que el mundo, su pueblo y su Dios supieran que en su mente y corazón había y hay sólo un Dios y Su nombre es Jehová. En su historia notamos que él no hizo nada tonto en fortificar la ciudad y otras áreas. Pero también notamos que parte de esa fortificación incluía la oración.

La oración es una de nuestras herramientas o armas de defensa más importantes que parecemos olvidar en medio de cualquier angustia del momento, Efesios 6:13-20. Ezequías pidió al profeta que orara por él y luego oró por sí mismo y por su pueblo. ¿Cuántas veces olvidamos llamar a nuestros amigos, especialmente a aquellos que consideramos espiritualmente más maduros, a orar por nosotros (Romanos 15:1, Gálatas 6:1-2)?

Y, debemos notar una cosa más acerca de esta oración, lo específico que fue, 37:15-20. No había generalidades. Cuando hablamos con Dios debemos ser específicos sobre lo que nuestra necesidad es y de esa manera estar seguros cuando se responde que fue para usted. Tal vez no debemos olvidar lo más importante de la oración. Dios sólo escucha a los suyos, no oirá ni responderá a nadie más.

Fe implica recordar todas las cosas que Dios ya ha hecho por ti y asegurarte de que no tenga razón para no continuar.

Isaiah 36:21 (1-22) “But they were silent and answered him not a word;”

What do you hear?

The book of Proverbs says, “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will also be like him. Answer a fool as his folly deserves, that he not be wise in his own eyes.” (Proverbs 26:4-5) The idea is to not fall into the verbal traps of others.

I can only imagine what Rabshakeh must have been thinking in his mind when he heard not a word from the people of Jerusalem who heard him speak. For certain they had heard enough of the latest news from around the area to know who was coming up against them. Were they thinking that they were doomed? Did they really know their own God well enough to be certain that He would protect even defend them? The scriptures are silent on this point. All we know is that Hezekiah, the king of Israel told his people to keep their mouths shut, 36:21, 2 Kings 18:36.

Rabshakeh’s empty boast was empty because they didn’t know the God of Israel. The answer that he deserved was silence. It would have been of no value to engage in an argument with someone who was not prepared to listen. It is not any different today; fools are still not ready to listen, only to be heard. There are many out there who open their mouths speaking eloquently to issues they know nothing about. Yet, Hezekiah’s people spoke very loudly, because they placed their trust in their God. In the same way we should let our actions not reactions do our talking for us.

Cautiousness involves seeing the consequences of speaking and doing without thinking.

Isaías 36:21 (1-22) “Pero ellos se quedaron callados y no le respondieron palabra alguna;”

¿Qué tu oyes?

El libro de Proverbios dice: “No respondas al necio de acuerdo con su necedad, para que no seas tú también como él. Responde al necio según su necedad, para que no sea sabio ante sus propios ojos.” (Proverbios 26:4-5) La idea es no caer en las trampas verbales de los demás.

Sólo puedo imaginar lo que Rabsaces debe haber estado pensando en su mente cuando no oyó una palabra del pueblo de Jerusalén que lo oyó hablar. Para ciertos habían oído bastante de las noticias más últimas de alrededor de la zona para saber quién estaba subiendo contra ellos. ¿Estaban pensando que estaban condenados? ¿Conocían realmente a su propio Dios lo suficiente como para estar seguros de que Él protegería incluso a defenderlos? Las Escrituras son silenciosas sobre este punto. Todo lo que sabemos es que Ezequías, el rey de Israel, le dijo a su pueblo que cerrara la boca, 36:21, 2 Reyes 18:36.

La vana vanagloria de Rabsaces estaba vacía porque no conocían al Dios de Israel. La respuesta que merecía era el silencio. No habría tenido ningún valor discutir con alguien que no estaba dispuesto a escuchar. Hoy no es diferente; los tontos todavía no están listos para escuchar, sólo para ser escuchados. Hay muchos por ahí que abren sus bocas hablando elocuentemente a cuestiones que no saben nada. Sin embargo, el pueblo de Ezequías habló muy fuerte, porque pusieron su confianza en su Dios. De la misma manera debemos dejar que nuestras acciones no reacciones hablen por nosotros.

Cautela involucra viendo las consecuencias de hablar o actuar sin pensar.

Isaiah 35:4 (1-10) “The recompense of God will come, But He will save you.”

How are you a help?

When Billy Graham’s wife died it made me think of how long those two had been in ministry. Two people, among so many, who have been in the service of the Lord for so long; longer even than I have lived, it must get tiring for them. It makes me tired just thinking about all their years of service.

During the Tribulation there will be many believers and they will have it harder than anyone else in history to maintain their faith, let alone attempt to spread it. It will be a time that we can’t fully imagine, although some today are experiencing a little of what it will be like. There is real persecution of believers today all over the planet, yet nothing like what will happen during those terrible seven year of tribulation, Daniel 9:24-27.

In either case the individual believer gets tired and run down. Many are the times when the thought of giving it all up sneaks up on them. So let’s remember these people; pastors and missionaries, church and missions volunteers who have been working practically all their lives and even those just starting out. Let’s encourage them to keep their eyes on the glory of the Lord (35:2), which will come and let’s be a ready help to them who our Lord has called to serve us.

Joyfulness involves looking passed present difficulties to what God might be doing.

Isaías 35:4 (1-10) “la retribución vendrá de Dios mismo, mas El os salvará.”

¿Cómo es usted una ayuda?

Cuando la esposa de Billy Graham murió me hizo pensar en cuánto tiempo habían estado los dos en el ministerio. Dos personas, entre tantas, que han estado al servicio del Señor durante tanto tiempo; más tiempo que yo he vivido, debe ser agotador para ellos. Me hace cansado sólo pensando en todos sus años de servicio.

Durante la Tribulación habrá muchos creyentes y ellos tendrán más dificultades que cualquier otro en la historia para mantener su fe, y mucho menos para tratar de difundirla. Será un tiempo que no podemos imaginar plenamente, aunque algunos hoy están experimentando un poco de lo que será. Hay verdadera persecución de los creyentes hoy en todo el planeta, pero nada como lo que sucederá durante esos terribles siete años de tribulación, Daniel 9:24-27.

En cualquier caso, el creyente individual se cansa y se agota. Muchos son los tiempos en que la idea de dejarlo todo viene sobre ellos. Así que recordemos a estas personas; pastores y misioneros, voluntarios de iglesias y misiones que han estado trabajando prácticamente toda su vida e incluso aquellos que están empezando. Animémoslos a que guarden sus ojos en la gloria del Señor (35:2), la cual vendrá y sea una ayuda para aquellos que nuestro Señor ha llamado para servirnos.

Alegría involucra mirando mas allá de las dificultades a lo que Dios puede estar haciendo.

Isaiah 34:1 (1-17) “Draw near, O nations, to hear; and listen, O peoples! Let the earth and all it contains hear, and the world and all that springs from it.”

How aware are you?

Most of the time what we need to help us remember who we are and who God is; is some kind of event. Something earth shattering that will wake us up and cause us to start thinking about what we are doing, like a Pearl Harbor or 9/11. In this passage that event Isaiah is talking about is Armageddon (the seven years of destruction before the Millennial kingdom).

Those events are not the only way God has been trying to get mans attention. As believers our purpose is to be part of that process in which God is calling to Himself those who will be saved, not just from the Armageddon events, but also from that final judgment. We need to be alert to God’s leading when He places before us those to whom He wishes us to testify in word, in action and even in attitude. We need to be keenly aware of this because the time is getting ever closer when there will be no hope for any man left behind.

Just as each of us feels we deserve a chance, real or imagined, we need to be available to witness to that opportunity through the Lord Jesus Christ. It is our job as witnesses left behind today to find those whose names are in the book of life and wake them up.

Availability involves getting and staying busy with God given priorities and getting rid of those things that would get in the way.

Isaías 34:1 (1-17) “Acercaos, naciones, para oír, y escuchad, pueblos; oiga la tierra y cuanto hay en ella, el mundo y todo lo que de él brota.”

¿Cuán consciente eres?

La mayoría de las veces lo que necesitamos para ayudarnos a recordar quiénes somos y quién es Dios; es algún tipo de evento. Algo que rompe la tierra que nos despertará y nos hará comenzar a pensar en lo que estamos haciendo, como un Pearl Harbor o el 9/11. En este pasaje Isaías habla de Armagedón (los siete años de destrucción antes del reino del Milenio).

Esos eventos no son la única manera en que Dios ha estado tratando de llamar la atención del hombre. Como creyentes nuestro propósito es ser parte de ese proceso en el cual Dios está llamando a Sí Mismo a aquellos que serán salvos, no sólo de los por eventos de Armagedón, sino también de ese juicio final. Debemos estar atentos a la dirección de Dios cuando Él pone ante nosotros a aquellos a quienes Él desea que testifiquemos en palabra, en acción e incluso en actitud. Tenemos que ser muy conscientes de esto porque el tiempo se está acercando cada vez más cuando no habrá esperanza para cualquier hombre dejado atrás.

Así como cada uno de nosotros siente que merecemos una oportunidad, real o imaginada, necesitamos estar disponibles para dar testimonio de esa oportunidad a través del Señor Jesucristo. Es nuestro trabajo como testigos dejados atrás hoy para encontrar aquellos cuyos nombres están en el libro de la vida y despertarlos.

Disponibilidad involucra encontrarse y mantenerse ocupado con las prioridades de Dios y rechazar cualquier cosa que se mete en el medio.

Psalm 83:1 (1-18) “O God, do not remain silent; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.”

What is your situation?

Years back I remember coming to church on a Sunday morning to discover that over night someone had broken into the church and broken into the safe. It was a big old safe that had done its job well (There was never any more than thirty or forty dollars in it anyway). It angered me that anyone would dare to go into the house of God and violate it in such a way. So when I read this Psalm it seemed appropriate to ask God why we didn’t find those who did this already dead.

I know some of you are thinking that my attitude is inappropriate for a good Christian, that I should have mercy on that poor soul (but mercy is only extended to those who repent). I don’t know that there is anything poor about that soul. His behavior demonstrates that he has no regard for the things of God, and so why should I have any regard for him! If he or she had a need why didn’t they ask?

To be sure I don’t wish for him or them to be dead, It would be great if they could come to the Lord and be able to give testimony of how God used this situation to bring them to there knees before Him, but I’m not holding my breath waiting, 83:13-18.

Wisdom involves understanding that my behavior is the cause of my situation.

Salmo 83:1 (1-18) “Oh Dios, no permanezcas en silencio; no calles, oh Dios, ni te quedes quieto.”

¿Cuál es su situación?

Años atrás recuerdo venir a la iglesia en un domingo por la mañana para descubrir que durante la noche alguien había entrad en la iglesia y abrieron la caja fuerte. Era una gran y vieja caja fuerte que había hecho su trabajo bien (nunca había más de treinta o cuarenta dólares en él de todos modos). Me enojé que alguien se atreviera a entrar en la casa de Dios y violarla de tal manera. Así que cuando leí este salmo parecía apropiado preguntarle a Dios por qué no los encontramos ya muerto.

Sé que algunos de ustedes piensan que mi actitud es inapropiada para un buen cristiano, que tendría misericordia de esa pobre alma (pero la misericordia sólo se extiende a los que se arrepienten). No sé si hay algo bueno en esa alma. Su comportamiento demuestra que no tiene respeto de las cosas de Dios, y entonces ¿por qué debería tener alguna consideración por él? Si él o ella tenía una necesidad ¿por qué no lo pidieron?

Para estar seguro no deseo que él o ellos estén muertos, sería grandioso si pudieran venir al Señor y ser capaces de dar testimonio de cómo Dios usó esta situación para traerlos a sus rodillas ante Él, pero me voy a sentar porque pardo me canso, 83:13-18.

Sabiduría involucra el entender que mi comportamiento es la causa de mi situación.

Psalm 82:6 (1-8) “You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.”

Have you been judged?

In 2 Chronicles 19:4 began the reign of Jehoshaphat in Jerusalem of the southern kingdom. In 19:6-7 he tells the judges not to forget their place as judges under God.

This Psalm is a reminder to those judges. The power to determine who is right and who is wrong, who is innocent and who is guilty is an awesome responsibility. But you can see, even today, how that kind of power can make you think that you are somehow above the law yourself. That kind of pride can weaken your ability to judge matters in a way that is pleasing to the God who established the rule of law in the first place.

Every one of us will one day have to give an accounting of our behavior in this life, to stand before The Judge. For the believer that accounting will only be to determine what reward we will get, 2 Corinthians 5:10 (1 Corinthians 3:12-15). But for the nonbeliever it will be a recitation of the evidence against any mercy for a merciless and unrepentant person.

A judge, no matter how high on the seat of judgment they sit, is just a man like any other and falls under one of the two categories of men, believers and nonbelievers. Their position as judges will not save them in the end. But their position really is an opportunity to ease the burden of the unfortunate and the mistreated of the land, something we all wish for ourselves.

Love involves seeing the basic need of another and meet it, as I would want another to meet mine, Matthew 7:12.

Salmo 82:6 (1-8) “Vosotros sois dioses, y todos sois hijos del Altísimo.”

¿Has sido juzgado?

En 2 Crónicas 19:4 comenzó el reinado de Josafat en Jerusalén del reino del sur. En 19:6-7 él le dice a los jueces que no olviden su lugar como jueces bajo Dios.

Este Salmo es un recordatorio para esos jueces. El poder de determinar quién tiene razón y quién está equivocado, quién es inocente y quién es culpable es una responsabilidad asombrosa. Pero usted puede ver, incluso hoy, cómo ese tipo de poder puede hacerle pensar que usted está de alguna manera sobre la ley usted mismo. Ese tipo de orgullo puede debilitar su capacidad de juzgar asuntos de una manera que es agradable al Dios que estableció la orden de Ley en primer lugar.

Cada uno de nosotros un día tendrá que dar una explicación de nuestro comportamiento en esta vida, para estar ante el Juez. Para el creyente esa contabilidad sólo será para determinar qué recompensa vamos a recibir, 2 Corintios 5:10 (1 Corintios 3:12-15). Pero para el no creyente será una recitación de la evidencia contra cualquier misericordia por una persona despiadada y no arrepentida.

Un juez, no importa cuán alto en el asiento de juicio se sientan, es sólo un hombre como cualquier otro y cae bajo una de las dos categorías de hombres, creyentes y no creyentes. Su posición como jueces no los salvará al final. Pero su posición es realmente una oportunidad para aliviar la carga de los desafortunados y maltratados de la tierra, algo que todos deseamos para nosotros mismos.

Amor involucra viendo la necesidad básica de otro y cumpliéndola, como me gustaría que otro lo hiciera por mi, Mateo 7:12.
