Hosea 6:3 (1-11) “His going forth is as certain as the dawn;”

How sure are you?

As sure as we can be that we will fail our God, that we will be disloyal to Him; that sure we can be that He will be there for us, 6:1. It makes you wonder how many times God will go ahead and forgive us! And it seems the answer is seven time seventy, Matthew 18:22. Why, because the basis for His relationship with us is His love for us, whereas our basis is our immediate need for Him.

As soon as we feel fine, and everything seems to be OK we begin to forget the God who sustains us. We behave as if there is no God who cares about our development as much as He cares about whether we have fun. We want to be treated as mature adults, but we behave as if we are spoiled children. We say, “Come let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us;”

The Lord knows our weakness and for it He will be there. But we should also know that God will be there only for His own. After a while He will cease to work with those who show themselves not to be His. The rituals we perform and holy days we observe should help us to gain insight into the character of God (to learn how we should be) and they also help to keep us loyal; they are not charms to keep God happy as if He were some sort of fool.

Decisiveness involves making a commitment now to ensure success later.

Oseas 6:3 (1-11) “Su salida es tan cierta como la aurora;”

¿Qué tan seguro estás?

Tan seguros como podamos estar de que le fallaremos a nuestro Dios, de que seremos desleales a Él; que estamos seguros de que Él estará allí para nosotros, 6:1. ¡Te hace preguntarte cuántas veces Dios seguirá adelante y nos perdonará! Y parece que la respuesta es siete veces setenta, Mateo 18:22. Porque la base de Su relación con nosotros es Su amor por nosotros, mientras que nuestra base es nuestra necesidad inmediata de Él.

Tan pronto como nos sentimos bien, y todo parece estar bien, comenzamos a olvidar al Dios que nos sostiene. Nos comportamos como si no hubiera un Dios que se preocupe por nuestro desarrollo tanto como se preocupa por si nos divertimos. Queremos ser tratados como adultos maduros, pero nos comportamos como si fuéramos niños mimados. Nosotros decimos: “Vengan, volvamos al Señor. Porque Él nos ha desgarrado, pero Él nos sanará;”

El Señor conoce nuestra debilidad y para ello Él estará allí. Pero también debemos saber que Dios estará allí sólo para los suyos. Después de un tiempo, Él dejará de trabajar con aquellos que se muestran a sí mismos como Suyos. Los rituales que realizamos y los días santos que observamos nos deben ayudar a comprender mejor el carácter de Dios (para aprender cómo debemos ser) y también nos ayudan a mantenernos leales; no son amuletos para mantener feliz a Dios como si fuera una especie de tonto.

Ser decisivo implica hacer un compromiso ahora para asegurar el éxito más adelante.

Hosea 5:1 (1-15) “Hear this, O priests! Give heed, O house of Israel! Listen, O house of the king! For the judgment applies to you,”

Who are you following?

Aaron was Moses’ brother and left in charge of the camp while he went up Mount Sinai to receive the Law from God. Joshua went with Moses and on their way back down, after having received the Law; they heard a noise coming from the camp. Joshua thought it was a battle, but Moses knew better it was the sound of celebration. But it was not a celebration for Jehovah, Exodus 32:1-18.

The people had determined that since Moses was taking too long to return that he would never return. So, they decided to make up their own gods and have some fun in the meantime. Aaron didn’t want the people to get any more upset, so he commissioned a golden calf be made for the people to worship. When Moses asked what had happened, Aaron blamed the people. Aaron failed to lead. A good leader not just follows orders but finds ways to make those under his command help him be obedient.

In the church today, there are many so-called leaders who have failed to lead. They have heard the complaints of people who don’t want to obey Gods laws. They have created an alternate faith, a fake religion, a modern golden calf for the people to follow, but it’s not the people who are following, it’s the leadership. We permit immorality under a banner of compassion and mercy, while forgetting loyalty and justice.

Leaders need to lead; successful leaders aren’t the ones with big churches and lots of programs; they are the one who are loyal to God and His ways in spite of what congregations think they want (convenience and compatibility with the world). Their life is a testimony to loyalty to God.

Virtue involves establishing God’s moral standard that I will refuse to break.

Oseas 5:1 (1-15) “Oíd esto, sacerdotes, y estad atentos, casa de Israel, y casa del rey, escuchad, porque para vosotros es el juicio;”

¿A quién sigues?

Aarón era el hermano de Moisés y quedó a cargo del campamento mientras subía al Monte Sinaí para recibir la Ley de Dios. Josué fue con Moisés y en su camino de regreso, después de haber recibido la Ley; Oyeron un ruido proveniente del campamento. Josué pensó que era una batalla, pero Moisés sabía mejor que era el sonido de la celebración. Pero no fue una celebración para Jehová, Éxodo 32:1-18.

El pueblo había determinado que, dado que Moisés tardaba demasiado en regresar, nunca regresaría. Entonces, decidieron inventar sus propios dioses y divertirse mientras tanto. Aarón no quería que la gente se enojara más, así que encargó que se hiciera un becerro de oro para que la gente adorara. Cuando Moisés preguntó qué había sucedido, Aarón culpó al pueblo. Aaron no pudo liderar. Un buen líder no solo sigue órdenes, sino que encuentra maneras de hacer que aquellos bajo su mando lo ayuden a ser obediente.

En la iglesia de hoy, hay muchos llamados líderes que han fallado en liderar. Han escuchado las quejas de personas que no quieren obedecer las leyes de Dios. Han creado una fe alternativa, una religión falsa, un becerro de oro moderno para que la gente lo siga, pero no es la gente la que está siguiendo, es el liderazgo. Permitimos la inmoralidad bajo una bandera de compasión y misericordia, mientras olvidamos la lealtad y la justicia.

Los líderes necesitan liderar; Los líderes exitosos no son los que tienen grandes iglesias y muchos programas; ellos son los que son leales a Dios y a Sus caminos a pesar de lo que las congregaciones piensen que quieren (conveniencia y compatibilidad con el mundo). Su vida es un testimonio de lealtad a Dios.

Virtud involucra establecer el estándar moral de Dios que me negaré a quebrantar.

Hosea 4:9 (1-19) “And it will be, like people, like priest; So I will punish them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.”

Who’s in charge in your land?

The people of Israel were guilty of three things: disloyalty, cruelty and being ignorant, 4:1, 6. They were disloyal to God “for a spirit of harlotry has led them astray,” 4:12. Because they had no relationship with God (vertical) they couldn’t be kind in their relationships with each other (horizontal). And so, there was “swearing (by the name of another), deception, murder, stealing and adultery. They employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed.”

Those first two problems occurred because they had no knowledge of who God is. God has no fight with other gods because they only exist in the minds of men. So, we create for ourselves what we want God to be like. Make no mistake, we want a god, we just don’t want God. “My people consult their wooden idols … they offer sacrifices on the mountain tops …, under trees … because their shade is pleasant.” (4:12-13)

Now the priests of Israel, in that day, understood this and so they followed the people’s desire justifying behavior by modifying or adding another god, 4:9. Then you could have your immoral behavior because there was a god that required it, you were just doing what the gods wanted. The priest failed to lead the people of God into a right understanding of God and what He wanted. When you read the Law there was to be sacrifices made only at the temple. There were no high places (we can’t get high enough) no shady trees involved (confession is not supposed to be pleasant), 4:13.

Does any of this sound a lot like today? As a people let’s pray that our spiritual leaders will seek the knowledge of the one true God and lead and teach us about that God and no other. Let’s also pray for each other that we stop being unkind to one another and focus our attention on God’s desire for us.

Loyalty is standing by the God we serve even when pressures to abandon Him increase.

Oseas 4:9 (1-19) “Como el pueblo, así será el sacerdote; los castigaré por su proceder, y les pagarésegún sus obras.”

¿Quién está a cargo en tu tierra?

El pueblo de Israel era culpable de tres cosas: deslealtad, crueldad e ignorancia, 4:1, 6. Fueron desleales a Dios “porque un espíritu de prostitución los ha descarriado”, 4:12. Debido a que no tenían ninguna relación con Dios (vertical) no podían ser amables en sus relaciones entre sí (horizontal). Y así, hubo “juramento (por el nombre de otro), engaño, asesinato, robo y adulterio. Emplean la violencia, de modo que el derramamiento de sangre sigue al derramamiento de sangre”.

Esos dos primeros problemas ocurrieron porque no tenían conocimiento de quién es Dios. Dios no tiene pelea con otros dioses porque sólo existen en las mentes de los hombres. Entonces, creamos para nosotros mismos cómo queremos que sea Dios. No se equivoquen, queremos un dios, simplemente no queremos a Dios. “Mi pueblo consulta a sus ídolos de madera… ofrecen sacrificios en las cimas de las montañas…, bajo los árboles… porque su sombra es agradable”. (4:12-13)

Ahora los sacerdotes de Israel, en ese día, entendieron esto y así siguieron el deseo del pueblo justificando el comportamiento modificando o agregando otro dios, 4: 9. Entonces podrías tener tu comportamiento inmoral porque había un dios que lo requería, solo estabas haciendo lo que los dioses querían. El sacerdote falló en guiar al pueblo de Dios a una comprensión correcta de Dios y de lo que Él quería. Cuando lees la Ley, sólo se debían hacer sacrificios en el templo. No había lugares altos (no podemos llegar lo suficientemente alto) ni árboles sombreados involucrados (se supone que la confesión no es agradable), 4:13.

¿Algo de esto suena muy parecido a hoy? Como pueblo, oremos para que nuestros líderes espirituales busquen el conocimiento del único Dios verdadero y nos guíen y nos enseñen acerca de ese Dios y no de otro. Oremos también unos por otros para que dejemos de ser crueles unos con otros y centremos nuestra atención en el deseo de Dios para nosotros.

Lealtad involucra no olvidar el Dios que servimos incluso cuando las presiones para abandonarlo aumentan.

Hosea 3:2 (1-5) “So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a half of barley.”

Who’s in charge in your home?

After Hosea had prayed a hedge of spiritual thorns around Gomer (2:6-7) and committed himself to win her back (2:14-20) he now had to take the next step. Hosea had to go into the marketplace and buy her back for himself for the price of a slave. It must have been pretty embarrassing for Hosea. Everybody knew who he was, and that Gomer was his wife who had left him for other men. (It’s how God feels when we leave Him.)

Her lifestyle might indicate that she was looking for fun, immediate gratification a distraction. Maybe she grew up in a home where she never experienced joy. Who knows! The problem with immediate gratification is that it is immediate; it doesn’t last and is quickly forgotten. Whatever was bothering you comes right back and feels worse. In contrast Hosea understood that joy takes time to build, even when it doesn’t seem like fun.

So, Hosea followed God’s instruction and set-aside time to be alone with his wife to build a relationship that would last, 2:14. It is not a bad idea to set up regular times or take advantage of times to be alone with each other to focus on each other as husband and wife. Even though you have children, and they take up a lot of your time they should never take time away from you and your spouse.

But it all starts when one takes on the tremendous responsibility to be the initiator, the one to start the process. Whose responsibility do you think it is?

Joyfulness involves looking past present difficulties to what God might be doing.

Oseas 3:2 (1-5) “La compré, pues, para mí por quince siclosde plata y un homery mediode cebada.”

¿Quién está a cargo en tu casa?

Después de que Oseas había orado un seto de espinas espirituales alrededor de Gomer (2:6-7) y se comprometió a recuperarla (2:14-20), ahora tenía que dar el siguiente paso. Oseas tuvo que ir al mercado y comprarla de nuevo para sí mismo por el precio de un esclavo. Debe haber sido bastante vergonzoso para Oseas. Todo el mundo sabía quién era, y que Gomer era su esposa que lo había dejado por otros hombres. (Así es como Dios se siente cuando lo dejamos).

El estilo de vida de Gomer podría indicar que estaba buscando diversión, gratificación inmediata una distracción. Tal vez fue criada en un hogar donde nunca experimentó gozo. ¡Quién sabe! El problema con la gratificación inmediata es que es inmediata; No dura y se olvida rápidamente. Lo que sea que te estaba molestando regresa y se siente peor. En contraste, Oseas entendió que el gozo toma tiempo para construirse, incluso cuando no parece divertido.

Entonces, Oseas siguió las instrucciones de Dios y apartó tiempo para estar a solas con su esposa para construir una relación que duraría, 2:14. No es una mala idea establecer horarios regulares o aprovechar los momentos para estar a solas el uno con el otro para enfocarse el uno en el otro como esposo y esposa. A pesar de tener hijos que ocupan mucho de su tiempo, nunca deben quitarle tiempo a usted y a su cónyuge.

Pero todo comienza cuando uno asume la tremenda responsabilidad de ser el iniciador, el que inicia el proceso. ¿De quién crees que es la responsabilidad?

Gozo involucra mirando más allá de las dificultades a lo que Dios puede estar haciendo.

Hosea 2:14 (14-23) “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, …”

What is your vow?

If there is one thing we can and should learn from this book, or at least this chapter, is that there is no place for divorce when God makes a commitment.

Before God could have a chance to bring Israel back, He would have to let her suffer the full consequences of her unfaithfulness. As Gomer had been blinded by uncontrolled passions, so too was Israel. Both thought that this other world was satisfying, giving them everything they needed. But when the hard times came (2:6-7) her lovers left and she couldn’t find them. Suddenly she realized, like the Prodigal son, that life was better before she let herself be carried away.

But God and Hosea don’t gloat, they don’t say “I told you so,” “I told you, you would be back.” What we see is God (and Hosea) continuing to humble Himself for His betrothed. Hosea then sets up a meeting, away from any distractions (2:14). He speaks to her, not at her (2:14). He provides for her basic immediate physical needs (2:15). Then he helps her to see how she can learn from the past giving her hope for the future (2:15). Then Hosea reaffirms his commitment to their marriage (2:19). As he takes these steps she begins to know what kind of man her husband has been (2:20, 8).

Does anybody see where divorce fits in here? She was a woman who was running around with multiple lovers, a woman with children.

Loyalty is standing by the God we serve even when pressures to abandon Him increase.

Oseas 2:14 (14-23) “Por tanto, he aquí, la seduciré,”

¿Cuál es tu voto?

Si hay algo que podemos y debemos aprender de este libro, o al menos de este capítulo, es que no hay lugar para el divorcio cuando Dios hace un compromiso.

Antes de que Dios pudiera tener la oportunidad de traer a Israel de vuelta, tendría que dejarla sufrir todas las consecuencias de su infidelidad. Así como Gomer había sido cegado por pasiones incontroladas, también lo estaba Israel. Ambos pensaron que este otro mundo era satisfactorio, dándoles todo lo que necesitaban. Pero cuando llegaron los tiempos difíciles (2:6-7) sus amantes se fueron y ella no pudo encontrarlos. De repente se dio cuenta, como el hijo pródigo, de que la vida era mejor antes de dejarse llevar.

Pero Dios y Oseas no se regodean, no dicen “Te lo dije”, “Te dije, volverías”. Lo que vemos es que Dios (y Oseas) continúan humillándose por su prometida. Oseas entonces organiza una reunión, lejos de cualquier distracción (2:14). Él le habla, no a ella (2:14). Él provee para sus necesidades físicas básicas inmediatas (2:15). Luego la ayuda a ver cómo puede aprender del pasado dándole esperanza para el futuro (2:15). Entonces Oseas reafirma su compromiso con su matrimonio (2:19). A medida que él da estos pasos, ella comienza a saber qué clase de hombre ha sido su esposo (2:20, 8).

¿Alguien ve dónde encaja el divorcio aquí? Era una mujer que corría con múltiples amantes, una mujer con niños.

Lealtad involucra no olvidar el Dios que servimos incluso cuando las presiones para abandonarlo aumentan.

Hosea 2:6 (1-13) “Therefore, behold, I will hedge up her way with thorns,”

To what have you committed?

When a farmer finds evidence that his crops were being attacked by small animals that were eating away at the trunk of his plants, he would build a hedge of thorns. The hedge would complement a regular fence, already up. The hedge was low and thick so that any small animals would get caught and could be destroyed, causing no one else the trouble. Some of those animals that will figure it out and stay away, Amen!

Once that is done the work of the farmer is not yet finished. Now he needs to go back and care for the damaged plants. This involves extra time, talking to them and wrapping them up for further protection and so on, John 15:2.

May I suggest that if your marriage suffers from the intrusion of external forces that are eating away at the basis of your relationship, that you consider asking God to hedge the two of you up in thorns? (Hosea 2:6-7)

Hosea prayed to God and God placed a hedge of thorns around Gomer. When she went looking for her lovers, she couldn’t find them and that was because they had lost interest in her. With no one to support her habit she returned to Hosea who met her with open arms. Like the farmer he was ready to make the necessary sacrifices to rebuild the relationship whether its problems were his fault or not.

Love is giving to the basic needs of others without having as my motive personal reward.

Oseas 2:6 (1-13) “Por tanto, he aquí, cercaré sucamino con espinos,”

¿A qué te has comprometido?

Cuando un agricultor encuentra evidencia de que sus cultivos estaban siendo atacados por pequeños animales que estaban devorando el tronco de sus plantas, construiría un seto de espinas. El seto complementaría una valla regular, ya levantada. El seto era bajo y grueso para que cualquier animal pequeño quedara atrapado y pudiera ser destruido, sin causar problemas a nadie más. Algunos de esos animales que lo resolverán y se mantendrán alejados, ¡Amén!

Una vez hecho esto, el trabajo del agricultor aún no ha terminado. Ahora necesita regresar y cuidar las plantas dañadas. Esto implica tiempo extra, hablar con ellos y envolverlos para mayor protección y así sucesivamente, Juan 15: 2.

¿Puedo sugerir que si su matrimonio sufre de la intrusión de fuerzas externas que están carcomiendo la base de su relación, que considere pedirle a Dios que los cubra a los dos con espinas? (Oseas 2:6-7)

Oseas oró a Dios y Dios colocó un seto de espinas alrededor de Gomer. Cuando fue a buscar a sus amantes, no pudo encontrarlos y eso fue porque habían perdido interés en ella. Sin nadie que apoyara su hábito, regresó a Oseas, quien la recibió con los brazos abiertos. Al igual que el granjero, estaba dispuesto a hacer los sacrificios necesarios para reconstruir la relación, ya sea que sus problemas fueran su culpa o no.

El amor es dando a las necesidades básicas de otras sin tener motivo de recompensa personal.

Hosea 1:10 (10-11) “Yet the number of the sons of Israel will be like the sand of the sea,”

What promise are you listening to?

Here Hosea like Jonah and Amos have pronounced a terrible and horrifying destruction of what the Jews at that time thought was their fortune. They were a small nation that was not actually in anyone way. They really had no standing army so were a threat to no one.

Yet, they had failed to see what God had intended them to be. They were to be a picture of what the living God could do for those who followed His direction completely. So, because they had failed to follow God completely, they would suffer the consequences.

But God is merciful and promises His people that there would be a remnant that He would save for a time when they would return from every corner of the world, and they would be His people and He would be their Lord. Even though Cyrus and Darius gave orders to let them go that was not the fulfillment of Hosea’s prediction.

Wisdom involves understanding our lives from God’s perspective.

Ósea 1:10 (10-11) “Pero el número de los hijos de Israel será como la arena del mar,”

¿Qué promesa estás escuchando?

Aquí Oseas, como Jonás y Amós, han pronunciado una terrible y horrible destrucción de lo que los judíos en ese momento pensaban que era su fortuna. Eran una nación pequeña que en realidad no era de ninguna manera. Realmente no tenían un ejército permanente, por lo que no eran una amenaza para nadie.

Sin embargo, no habían podido ver lo que Dios había querido que fueran. Debían ser una imagen de lo que el Dios viviente podía hacer por aquellos que seguían Su dirección por completo. Entonces, debido a que no habían seguido a Dios por completo, sufrirían las consecuencias.

Pero Dios es misericordioso y promete a su pueblo que habría un remanente que Él salvaría para un tiempo cuando regresarían de todos los rincones del mundo, y serían Su pueblo y Él sería su Señor. A pesar de que Ciro y Darío dieron órdenes de dejarlos ir, ese no fue el cumplimiento de la predicción de Oseas.

Sabiduría involucra entendiendo nuestras vidas desde la perspectiva de Dios.

Hosea 1:2 (1-9) “Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry and have children of harlotry; for the land commits flagrant harlotry, forsaking the Lord.”

What should be your expectations?

Now God choses to speak to His people through the relationship of marriage. Marriage, as God had established it in the book of Genesis was between one man and one woman where they became one in their focus and purpose.

God tells Hosea to marry a woman who was not interested in the things of God. She was a woman of the world and Hosea was not. This is why you need to think through a decision before you make it. If you don’t the consequences are obvious.

The picture was to show Israel that God would hold His people to their word. They had chosen God (marriage) and now had abandoned Him (harlotry). Hosea and Gomer had two sons and a daughter, 1:3-9. So, the warning was that it was time to suffer the consequences.

In any marriage that falls apart those who suffer are not just the husband and wife, the children suffer as well. This is why marriage requires that you be self-sacrificing.

Decisiveness involves maintaining our commitments despite the distractions of life.

Ósea 1:2 (1-9) “Anda, toma para ti a una mujer ramera y engendra hijos de prostitución; porque la tierra se prostituye gravemente, abandonando alSeñor.”

¿Cuáles deberían ser sus expectativas?

Ahora Dios elige hablar a su pueblo a través de la relación del matrimonio. El matrimonio, como Dios lo había establecido en el libro de Génesis, fue entre un hombre y una mujer, donde se convirtieron en uno en su enfoque y propósito.

Dios le dice a Oseas que se case con una mujer que no estaba interesada en las cosas de Dios. Ella era una mujer del mundo y Oseas no lo era. Es por eso que necesitas pensar en una decisión antes de tomarla. Si no lo haces, las consecuencias son obvias.

La imagen era para mostrarle a Israel que Dios haría que su pueblo cumpliera su palabra. Habían elegido a Dios (matrimonio) y ahora lo habían abandonado (prostitución). Oseas y Gomer tuvieron dos hijos y una hija, 1:3-9. Entonces, la advertencia fue que era hora de sufrir las consecuencias.

En cualquier matrimonio que se desmorona, los que sufren no son solo el esposo y la esposa, los hijos también sufren. Es por eso que el matrimonio requiere que te sacrifiques.

Ser decisivo involucra mantener nuestros compromisos a pesar de las distracciones de la vida.

Amos 9:9 (1-15) “And I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations…”

Have you been shaken?

As in the days of Israel’s captivity scattered them throughout the then known world, so, today the church is scattered throughout the known world. In those days the Lord of Israel promised that a remnant would be saved from final judgment when all who were not truly the people of God would be destroyed and only His people would survive.

Amos describes that judgment as the shaking of a sieve. A sieve was a mesh stretched over a hoop that was used to strain out what was not good. The kernels of grain would fall through the mesh and whatever was left was thrown to the fire and burned. So you had to shake it well. Before Israel could find its way back home to its promised land it would have to be shaken. It will happen again to Israel.

The church, on the other hand, has been promised that when that day comes it will be spared (the Rapture, Revelation 3:10) and taken up to avoid that time of shaking (the Tribulation). Yet, when we allow ourselves to get caught up in the things of the world and forget who we really are, as Israel did, our Lord will have to take us personally through times of shaking. A time of straining out that which should not be a part of our lives.

Determination involves directing all our energies to complete the mission we’ve been assigned.

Amós 9:9 (1-15) “y zarandearé a la casa de Israel entre todas las naciones,”

¿Has sido sacudido?

Así como en los días del cautiverio de Israel los dispersó por todo el mundo entonces conocido, así hoy la iglesia está dispersa por todo el mundo conocido. En aquellos días, el Señor de Israel prometió que un remanente sería salvado del juicio final cuando todos los que no fueran verdaderamente el pueblo de Dios serían destruidos y sólo Su pueblo sobreviviría.

Amós describe ese juicio como el temblor de un tamiz. Un tamiz era una malla estirada sobre un aro que se usaba para colar lo que no era bueno. Los granos de grano caían a través de la malla y lo que quedaba era arrojado al fuego y quemado. Así que tenías que sacudirlo bien. Antes de que Israel pudiera encontrar su camino de regreso a su tierra prometida, tendría que ser sacudido. Le sucederá de nuevo a Israel.

A la iglesia, por otro lado, se le ha prometido que cuando llegue ese día será salvado (el Rapto, Apocalipsis 3:10) y tomado para evitar ese tiempo de temblor (la Tribulación). Sin embargo, cuando nos permitimos quedar atrapados en las cosas del mundo y olvidamos quiénes somos realmente, como lo hizo Israel, nuestro Señor tendrá que llevarnos personalmente a través de tiempos de temblor. Un tiempo de forzar lo que no debería ser parte de nuestras vidas.

Determinación implica el dirigir todas nuestras energías para completar la misión que se nos ha asignado.

Amos 9:9 (1-10) “For behold, I am commanding, and I will shake the house of Israel among all nations as grain is shaken in a sieve, but not a kernel will fall to the ground.”

For what are you prepared?

I’m sure that at the time Amos was giving his warnings to those who were ignoring him there were those who heard every word and feared for their lives. So, some may have tried to escape so that they could avoid the punishment God was about to inflict on Israel. It would seem normal to think that even those who weren’t Jews would decide that just in case the predictions were true they were going to go on a little vacation.

And I’m sure that even those who were listening, who had done all they could to remain loyal to Jehovah and His way no matter the difficulties they faced from those who thought they were a little too serious about their religion were also afraid.

Yet, those who show their faith by the way they live, as you suffer persecution for following the Lord in spite of it, should know that they will not be forgotten of God. Although the suffering Israel was about to experience would be felt by all of them there would be those Jehovah sifting out to use later so there would be a remnant to return to that land of promise.

Attentiveness involves paying attention to opportunities God presents for real change, right now.

Amós 9:9 (1-10) “Porque he aquí, yo daré un mandato, y zarandearé a la casa de Israel entre todas las naciones, como se zarandea el grano en la criba, sin que caiga ni un granoen tierra.”

¿Para qué estás preparado?

Estoy seguro de que en el momento en que Amós estaba dando sus advertencias a aquellos que lo ignoraban, había quienes escuchaban cada palabra y temían por sus vidas. Por lo tanto, algunos pueden haber tratado de escapar para poder evitar el castigo que Dios estaba a punto de infligir a Israel. Parecería normal pensar que incluso aquellos que no eran judíos decidirían que en caso de que las predicciones fueran ciertas, se iban a ir de vacaciones.

Y estoy seguro de que incluso aquellos que estaban escuchando, que habían hecho todo lo posible para permanecer leales a Jehová y a Su camino, sin importar las dificultades que enfrentaran, de aquellos que pensaban que eran demasiado serios acerca de su religión, también tenían miedo.

Sin embargo, aquellos que muestran su fe por la forma en que viven, mientras sufres persecución por seguir al Señor a pesar de ello, deben saber que no serán olvidados de Dios. Aunque el sufrimiento que Israel estaba a punto de experimentar sería sentido por todos ellos, habría aquellos que Jehová tamizaría para usarlos más tarde para que hubiera un remanente para regresar a esa tierra prometida.

Atento involucra prestar atención a las oportunidades que Dios nos presenta para un cambio real, ahora mismo.
